What an amazing year 2014 has been and I have my family and friends to thank for every bit of it. Without you I wouldn’t have had the courage, motivation, confidence, determination and commitment to tackle any of it.
Here’s how it went:
January > Started the year off with an epic Richardson Band gig at the Dog Prairie!
February > Ethan performed in the winter play, Charley’s Aunt; Rick and I took a weekend trip to Chicago; Taylor had his dad up to Kirksville for a guy’s night;-)
March > Photoshoot with my good friend Gertrude; Original wedding anniversary = 22 years; Fun gig with gorgeous backdrop at Duck Club Yacht Club.
April > Amy turns 43; Saw Once at the Fox (a-maaa-zzzzing show) followed by fantastic meal at Pi Pizzeria; Fired handguns; Ethan performed in Spring musical, Drowsy Chaperone; I attended the True Men concert followed by mom’s night with Taylor and his bros.
May > Rick turns 44; Our baby, Ethan, turns 18, performs a solo in his final choir concert and graduates high school; Rick and I visited Jefferson Barracks where his father is buried on Memorial Day; I begin my running endeavor.
June > Celebrated Ethan’s graduation with family and friends; Visited our old house in Alton and ate at Fast Eddie’s for the first time ever.
July > Ran my first 5K; And, then ran another; Launched the Better Now Project website; Partied with my SDH classmates at our 25th Reunion.
August > Left the corporate world to go back to school full-time; Rick officiated his first high school football game.
September > Attended the most epic wedding of all time (Congrats, Mason & Cassie); Ran in a 10K but missed second half making it only a 5K;-(
October > Rick and I worked the 3rd Annual River City Showcase (we don’t have kids in high school but we have a huge love for marching band); Attended my first SDH football game with fellow alum – Rick officiated; Taylor turned 22; Ran my first half marathon achieving a new personal best; Family attended Taylor’s senior recital at Truman – absolutely breathtaking performance!
November > Most amazing family Aruba vacation to-date; Launched “It Doesn’t Have to be That Way”!
December > Finished first semester with all A’s; Maranda turns 21 – no flipping way; Ice skated for the first time and quite successfully, I might add; Celebrated Christmas and the precious gift of Jesus with family on five separate events – couldn’t have been a better ending to such an incredible year.
Your encouragement made all of this happen and I couldn’t be more grateful. My top priority in 2015 will be to encourage you.
Best wishes for a prosperous 2015!
Giant hugs,
Amy Jo
PS. You may have noticed I’ve been making collages a lot lately. I stumbled upon a site called collage.com (oh, the irony) and can’t stop using it for my pictures.
